07.06.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

I got this from my mailbox today and I think it's worth sharing.  I don't know if it's true but there's no harm in being extra careful.I am reprinting the whole email:Dear all,I would like to share this worrisome experience with all of you. It’s all started when I received a call from someone claiming that he was from Maxis and he asked me ... Working from Home

06.24.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Because of the heavy rains last night, the roads going to my office in Pasay were still flooded as of early morning today.   As a result, I was not able to report. But since I have two major reports to submit today, I was forced to work at home.  I have just submitted the 2nd report through email and I came to the realization that working at home is more ... Praying for a Fine Weather

05.21.2011 by Leah // 3 Comments

I'm getting a bit panaroid now, not because of the wedding details, but because of the weather next week.According to the news today, a storm is likely to enter the Philippine territory next Tuesday.   Here's a more descriptive news from my favorite online weather station, AccuWeather:Tropical Storm Eyes Philippines and Japan By Rob Miller, Senior Meteorologist ... Feeling so OC! (and some weather problems)

05.18.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

I'm feeling so OC today, excessively meticulous, that I prepared the following which I think I should leave with my coordinator (hehe!):1.  Acknowledgment Receipt for Suppliers with on-the-day payments (i.e. florist, HMUA, back-up photographer, etc.)2.  Checklist of Items for turn-over to coordinator on the wedding day (for pick-up from hotel)3.  Guest ... Wedding Nice to Have’s

03.27.2011 by Leah // 2 Comments

I have my own list of nice-to-have's for our wedding.   But these are not the expensive things you can imagine (like a Bellaroca Honeymoon, a popular P/V supplier, Tiffany wedding rings, etc.). The things I want are actually simple things, which, up to this day, I still can't decide if we will incorporate in the wedding or not.   Some are not locally made ... READ MORE

To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, โ€œFear naught from lifeโ€™s alarmsโ€.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute โ€“ and said,
โ€œTo know this life was good,
It left itโ€™s mark on me. Its work stands fastโ€.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold โ€“
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

~

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy โค
