Baguio in a Jiffy

11.25.2013 by Leah // 19 Comments

Work took me to the City of Pines last week.  Oh, how I always look forward to visiting Baguio, because of the weather. Our engagement there was scheduled on a Tuesday, so we all left the office Monday afternoon, arrived in Baguio at half-past 9 in the evening, then went home the following day (Tuesday) after lunch.   I think mas mahaba pa ang traveling time namin kaysa sa ... Waling Waling Flowers from Davao

11.01.2012 by Leah // 2 Comments

During a recent trip to Davao (for work), my boss and I had a chance to visit this orchids farm that houses the "Waling Waling" - one of the most sought after orchid plant in the Philippines. Vanda Sanderiana - the scientific name for Waling Waling. Waling-waling, an orchid endemic to the Philippines and only found originally in Davao-Cotabato, foothills of Mt. ... READ MORE

Supplier’s Review: Love in Bloom

09.16.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

3 months have already passed since AJ and I said "I do" and I'm still not done with my supplier reviews hehe.   Well, I am actually saving the best for last. If you've been following my blog, you'd know that we got Love in Bloom as our florist.  Well, entourage and bride's florist only because the flowers for the church were already included in the package we got. I would ... READ MORE

DIY Floral Decoration

08.29.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Remember our DIY lampshade? Placing it alongside my singing bowl, the ashtray that serves as our keys holder and a ceramic dish with lovebirds (a wedding gift to us), I figured the whole set-up looks gloomy.   It needs something colorful to break the monotony of neutral shades.   So I decided to add a floral piece here, and together with AJ, we made our own floral ... Meeting with Ate Jo of Love in Bloom

04.05.2011 by Leah // 1 Comment

As someone who isn’t very familiar with flowers and with no particular preferences, I thought I’ll have a hard time looking for our florist. It’s a good thing Hizon’s will take care of the flowers during the wedding party  and our Church will provide for the flowers already.  So I only have to look for a florist who will take care of my ... To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “Fear naught from life’s alarms”.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute – and said,
“To know this life was good,
It left it’s mark on me. Its work stands fast”.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold –
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy ❤
