A Different Kind of “Diamond” Earrings

12.14.2013 by Leah // 4 Comments

I've been frequently wearing this 3-year old earrings of mine (that I had custom-made) because of the way they sparkle and shine. Perfect for Christmas! I always get compliments every time I wear this pair.  Others are curious to find where did I find such "yellowish" diamonds, especially the chunky ones in the middle. But guess what?  These are not diamond earrings!  ... READ MORE

Palawan South Sea Pearls

06.03.2013 by Leah // 59 Comments

Palawan is popular mainly because of ecotourism, which it promotes so responsibly and enthusiastically.   You won't see mass tourism there, and in exchange, you get to experience being part of island communities that are unspoiled but very much thriving. What you probably don't know about Palawan is that, to borrow this description from Jewelmer, the international luxury ... READ MORE

04.24.2013 by Leah // 3 Comments

NOVICA, the online shop with largest collection of artisan handcrafted jewelry, including pearl, turquoise and handmade silver treasures is now a site partner of The Bright Spot.   I fell in love with their jewelry collection the first time I saw them and I know you would too.  And for something that's handmade, they're not that expensive. Below are some of my favorites from ... READ MORE

The Treasured Effervescence Collection from Links of London

02.01.2013 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Who wouldn't recognize the Effervescence collection from Links of London?  The Duchess of Cambridge made the Bubble Stiletto Earrings a must-have, always out-of-stock jewelry piece! Now that Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away, I thought of the Effervescence Collection because it is, to this day, the most treasured collection from Links of London, and isn't it the ... The Quest for Burmese Rubies

09.28.2012 by Leah // 3 Comments

I can't remember when was it that I first looked for ruby earrings for my collection.   Red rubies and green emeralds are the most difficult to find among all precious stones because their supply is really low.   The rarest and most valuable colors (vivid pigeon blood red for ruby and medium-to-dark green tone for emeralds) are so expensive there's no way I can afford ... Tahitian Pearls

07.05.2012 by Leah // 5 Comments

My love affair with south sea pearls just won't stop.  And not now when I finally saw and bought the most elusive of all:  the peacock green tahitian pearls! Meet my newest baby: I got these  stunning 10mm tahitian pearls by accident (or rather, by luck).  My friends and I met up with our trusted jeweler (I got most of my south sea pearl earrings from her) and then I saw ... My Own Chanel Pearl Drop Earrings

08.19.2011 by Leah // 12 Comments

I love customizing my jewelry.   I get my inspirations from celebrities and fashion magazines. Take these Chanel Pearl Drop Earrings that Kris Aquino was wearing during the eulogy she delivered for her mom in August last year: I remember being touched by her eulogy and cried alongside her, but I kept my eyes too on her earrings hehe. The CC-logo in Kris Aquino's ... READ MORE

Pearl Earrings for Sale

07.21.2011 by Leah // 7 Comments

I recently purchased these pink-champagne south sea pearls from my sis-in-law: They're from Hongkong.   I was instantly mesmerized by their perfect luster and although they're not perfectly round, they have the same size (11mm) and would make a good stud pearl earrings. Now you all know about my south sea pearls collection.   This is a welcome addition indeed, as ... READ MORE

Who would've thought that she will bloom into a really pretty cat, with salmon-colored nose, beautiful doe eyes, a prominent white hair scarf, and powdery white cheeks.

But she is very far from innocent, and is now feared by the male cats here twice her size because she is #GigitheCatBully pala 😅

Happy 9th monthsary, Gigi Ganda 🥰

To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “Fear naught from life’s alarms”.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute – and said,
“To know this life was good,
It left it’s mark on me. Its work stands fast”.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold –
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

~

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy ❤
