We have a winner for the bird cage decal sticker!

AJ and I enjoyed reading all entries to the question I posted as part of my  little blog give-away 2 weeks ago:  Which part of your home needs updating and why?

And because it was AJ’s birthday yesterday (Happy Birthday!  Mwah!), he got to choose the winner!

And the winner is…. JOSH TOMELDAN!

Printed below is Josh’s entry to the contest:

Our living room in our new town house where we recently moved in to after the Habagat ruined our home. We have been back on our feet and slowly putting things back in place and the new birdcage decal will look great on our living room wall – it will signify a new purpose for us.

Who wouldn’t forget Habagat?   Those 8 days of continuous rains and thunderstorms in August last year flooded the whole of Metro Manila and its nearby provinces.   And it’s not even a typhoon!  We’ve seen and heard of family members, office colleagues and friends whose homes were affected badly by the flooding.    The street we live in, on the other hand, was not affected.  My prayers of thanks were so abundant during those period, while I pray for the safety and protection of everyone at the same time.

AJ and I both feel that the bird cage decal is perfect  for Josh’s home.   Birds signify the  return of warmth, the arrival of spring, a renewed life.   Josh couldn’t have said it better when she said “… the new birdcage decal will look great on our living room wall – it will signify a new purpose for us.“

Congrats, Josh!  Please email me your address so I can ship the sticker decal to you  =)

Watch out for the next give-away, dear readers!  This time, it’s something edible and something I really love!

Oh my Lord!! Thank you so much for this! It’s my first time winning anything in blog giveaways. I’m just usually a lurker, too timid to even comment. Thanks again, Leah and AJ. =) Will email you now. God bless, you’re the best. xx

9 months ago this feisty little cat we named Gigi 9 months ago this feisty little cat we named Gigi came to us super dirty (gusgusin to the max), malnourished and is in bad need of treatment for worms and fleas. Who would've thought that she will bloom into a really pretty cat, with salmon-colored nose, beautiful doe eyes, a prominent white hair scarf, and powdery white cheeks.

But she is very far from innocent, and is now feared by the male cats here twice her size because she is #GigitheCatBully pala 😅

Happy 9th monthsary, Gigi Ganda 🥰

To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “Fear naught from life’s alarms”.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute – and said,
“To know this life was good,
It left it’s mark on me. Its work stands fast”.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold –
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

~

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy ❤
