Kiddie Party Weekend

07.28.2012 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Two of my godchildren celebrated their 7th birthdays last weekend –  Rianne Maxine and Toby, who had a joint birthday celebration with his older brother Taddy.   AJ and I attended both birthday parties last weekend, where we enjoyed being kids again!

Maxine had her Barbie-themed party at Jollibee in Ortigas Avenue last Saturday.  I think this branch has the biggest party venue available, with wider activity area for games and mascot dance.

Max’s Barbie cake is from Red Ribbon. Very pretty!
Character pencil cases served as give-aways to Max’s kiddie guests.
Here’s Max checking out the toys in her cake, with her classmate.

Too bad we can’t stay long to finish the party because we have another engagement to attend.  But I heard it was a blast, with  Jollibee the mascot appearing at the later part of the party.

Meanwhile, Taddy and Toby held their joint birthday celebration at KFC in Jupiter Street last Sunday.   They have an “Angry Birds” theme.  AJ and I came in really late we thought we will not be able to make it!      But we were able to catch most of the fun there, and we even saw KFC’s mascot, Chuckie, do his chicken dance.

The birthday celebrants, Toby (left) and Taddy (right), playing around with Chuckie, KFC’s mascot.
The boys preparing to blow their cakes.
Toby’s cake (the letterings have been taken out by the kids hehe).
Taddy’s cake (with most of the letterings still intact).
Loot bags were prepared by their mom, Chel (my college friend and kumare)
The cute backdrop.
Taddy, me and Toby!  (they are “pro” at doing wacky shots hehe)

Happy Birthday, Max, Taddy and Toby!  I can’t believe you are now 7 (and Taddy’s 10)!   I really should stop counting my age hehe!

Who would've thought that she will bloom into a really pretty cat, with salmon-colored nose, beautiful doe eyes, a prominent white hair scarf, and powdery white cheeks.

But she is very far from innocent, and is now feared by the male cats here twice her size because she is #GigitheCatBully pala 😅

Happy 9th monthsary, Gigi Ganda 🥰

To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “Fear naught from life’s alarms”.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute – and said,
“To know this life was good,
It left it’s mark on me. Its work stands fast”.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold –
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

~

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy ❤
