Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe

05.21.2012 by Leah //

AJ and I saw this new restaurant at Mall of Asia (MOA) in one of our trips there last month.  Its called Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe –  a modern restaurant that serves the best of Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai’s street food.

You gotta try their Cold Barley Drink (my favorite!) and this jelly drink with long johns and nata de coco – both are house specialties.

I got curious with this P95.00 luncheon rice meal that is composed of just white rice, fried egg and luncheon meat – so I had it.   Turned out to be good and very filling.  A total comfort food!

AJ tried the Hong Kong Pork Chops (priced at less than P200) and there’s nothing spectacular about this dish.  The pork was also dry.  Having said that, I think we still got more value for my money with the luncheon meat rice meal.

Of course, we have to have the dumplings / gyoza.  It was priced at P112.00 (for 5 pieces) and tasted just average.

The total food bill came at less than P500 for 2 persons (pretty cheap!).

Despite the lackluster taste of the pork chops, we still would want to come back here to try their many other dishes (and desserts) – all at very reasonable prices.

One thing that’s compromised here though is the quality of the food.  For that kind of price, we shouldn’t be expecting 5-star Asian cuisine, that you could find only at 5-star hotels.

Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe is located at SM Mall of Asia (beside the iMax Theater).

The price is good, but I would still prefer to spend the money on something tastier. The food did seem to look filling, though:)

Who would've thought that she will bloom into a really pretty cat, with salmon-colored nose, beautiful doe eyes, a prominent white hair scarf, and powdery white cheeks.

But she is very far from innocent, and is now feared by the male cats here twice her size because she is #GigitheCatBully pala 😅

Happy 9th monthsary, Gigi Ganda 🥰

To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “Fear naught from life’s alarms”.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute – and said,
“To know this life was good,
It left it’s mark on me. Its work stands fast”.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold –
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

~

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy ❤
