Isabel Gatuslao’s Artichoke Wrappers

12.11.2011 by Leah // 1 Comment

I learned about Isabel Gatuslao from Daphne Osena-Paez’s blog.  Isabel is the genius behind Daphne’s new blog design.  I’ve been following her blog since.   I love it when she features her design projects and when she documents the design process with pictures and her own brand of wit.

Just recently, Isabel introduced in her blog the artichoke wrappers that she designed.       I was so charmed by the cute artichokes (in black and white, her signature colors) that I bought a roll at Kish (the store which sells her artichoke wrappers) in the same week that she featured it.

A roll of Isabel Gatuslao’s artichoke wrappers is made up of 10 sheets and costs P250.00.     It’s nicely wrapped in a white paper, and sealed with a sticker that she also designed:

I was able to use it immediately because a friend of mine got married and her color motifs were black and gold.   I wrapped her gift using the artichoke wrapper and finished it off with a white satin ribbon.

Here’s how it turned out:

My ribbon was lousy hehe!

You will also find Isabel Gatuslao’s logo at the back of the wrappers (sorry for the picture, bad lighting there):

You too can have your own artichoke wrappers.  They are available at Kish, located at 233 N. Garcia St., Bel-Air, Makati City.

Who would've thought that she will bloom into a really pretty cat, with salmon-colored nose, beautiful doe eyes, a prominent white hair scarf, and powdery white cheeks.

But she is very far from innocent, and is now feared by the male cats here twice her size because she is #GigitheCatBully pala 😅

Happy 9th monthsary, Gigi Ganda 🥰

To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “Fear naught from life’s alarms”.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute – and said,
“To know this life was good,
It left it’s mark on me. Its work stands fast”.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold –
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

~

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy ❤
