THE BRIGHT SPOT

The Wedding

03.19.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

At least two months from now I’m going to be a missus.

I can already imagine myself wearing this dream wedding gown, which will be made by Carmen Lazaro Couture:

I wish I should have started this blog earlier so I can document all our wedding preparations here [sigh].

Anyway, better late than never.

AJ and I have been engaged since 2008, after being boyfriend-girlfriend for 2 years.  But we stared preparing for the wedding only last June 2010 (more or less a year before our d-day).

We both wear glasses, love books and coffee and share the same family name!

We have set up our wedsite where our suppliers and of course, the wedding details, can be found.

To date we have booked all our major suppliers and are lucky that so far, none of them has been giving us headaches and undue stress.    Except maybe the guest list.  And the seat plan.

Geez, who would have thought that doing a seat plan can be so stressful?

Ideal escort card, once we have the seat plan.
Lovely escort card idea from the Martha Stewart website, but where, oh where is the seat plan?

The challenge of putting people together and making sure that they will enjoy each other’s company is something every future-to-wed couples will encounter.   Although I am sure we will be able to come up with an ideal seat plan by the end of the month (so I can still have time to make the escort cards), already it is beginning to eat up my nerves.

Other than this, we are on schedule as far as the wedding preparations are concerned.  Major items will be ticked off our list by next month as we finally bring to a close all the payments needed to our suppliers and finalizing the logistics for our big day!

Who would've thought that she will bloom into a really pretty cat, with salmon-colored nose, beautiful doe eyes, a prominent white hair scarf, and powdery white cheeks.

But she is very far from innocent, and is now feared by the male cats here twice her size because she is #GigitheCatBully pala 😅

Happy 9th monthsary, Gigi Ganda 🥰

To My Father By Georgia Harkness A giant pine, ma To My Father
By Georgia Harkness

A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle,
and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, “Fear naught from life’s alarms”.
It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute – and said,
“To know this life was good,
It left it’s mark on me. Its work stands fast”.
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold –
This giant pine, magnificent and old.

~

To our shelter and safety while he lived, we miss you so much.
Happy 2nd Year in Heaven, Daddy ❤
